Abu Dhabi
- Large expatriate population
- Economy growing in financial services
- No income tax
Abu Dhabi lies on a t-shaped island off the coast of the UAE and is joined to the mainland by two bridges. With a population of close to 1.5 million people it is a near second to Dubai by population size. 80% of the population are expatriates.
Economy
Over 90% of the UAE’s oil reserves lie under Abu Dhabi and there is enough at the current rate of production to last a further 100 years. While there is still a heavy dependence on the oil and gas industry, it is becoming increasingly diverse and moving away from the reliance on oil and gas.
Immigration
It is generally easy for most nationals to gain entry into the UAE. To work in the UAE, you first need to gain a residential permit which your employer will arrange through sponsorship.
